Minardi were my favourite team and reminiscing over some of these images bring a smile to my face and a tear to my eye – Badoer’s retirement from Nurburgring ’99 (as pictured above), Webber’s debut 6th place, Martini’s heroics over the years behind the wheel of a Faenza flyer. Those were the days! People talk about the 70s being the classic period for F1, but for me, my interest in and passion for F1 rose and fell with the Minardi years. Forza Minardi!

Great to see a livery history of my favorite team 🙂 I’d have to say the 91, 96, 99 and (original) 01 liveries are my faves.
Another interesting fact (according to the Forza Minardi book) is that the 88 Minardi was originally all black until (I think) Nannini complained it looked like a hearse. Also the book insists that early Minardis were yellow and ‘midnight blue’ – though they look pretty black to me
